History of Legal Education

Legal Education has a long and rich history. It traces back to ancient times when the law was used as a way to preserve social order. Today, legal education is still one of the most important ways we learn about our rights, responsibilities and how they relate to others.

The legal education system in the United States addresses the needs of its graduates. Each state and federal court have their own requirements for admission to practice. These requirements are based on rules promulgated by the Supreme Court, which serve as guidelines for judges and lawyers across the country.

Legal education has evolved over the years, with changes in curriculum, pedagogy and teaching methods. A legal education today is more diverse than ever before; this diversity was caused by both a range of professional societies and regulators who have been particularly active in setting standards for what it takes to train lawyers
